Denver City Council recently voted to eliminate parking minimums citywide, a landmark victory for building a more affordable, walkable, and resilient city.
Since our inception, Strong Denver has made this issue a top priority. Our members have highlighted the true costs of mandatory parking, brought neighborhood voices to the table, and showed up in force at city council to testify. Together, we helped shift the conversation away from car storage and toward people, housing, and stronger neighborhoods.
By removing these outdated rules, Denver is freeing up resources for homes and businesses, supporting incremental development, and taking a big step toward a future where every block is built for people first.
We are proud of this win and proud of the community that made it possible.
